Someone told me you can get a Points of Interest (POI) for the Garmin StreetPilot i3 that alerts you if you are going faster than the speed limit of the area your in. I can’t seem to find this though. Is it real and if so where can it be found? Thanks!

There are no POI databases to tell you if you’re speeding.

There do exist POI databases for known speedcamera positions. These are mostly found in Europe and Australia, but some exist in the states, as well as red-light camera’s.

Since I don’t know where you are, I suggest Googling for “Speed Camera Database” or “Speed Camera Points of Interest” – I found many for different geographies. You can substitute “red light camera” for Speed Camera and find similar.

Once you get the data, you set a proxmity alert for those items and it will alert you when you’re within, say, a mile of a camera and remind you to be sure you’re driving at a safe speed.
