I am completely new to GPS. I live in both the US and Europe and I travel quite a lot. I want to know if I can pop a new GPS into a car wherever I am and be able to navigate the streets. Yes. All you need to do is buy the Garmin Maps for the area you live in.
For example I have a Garmin 260, and I have maps for North America and Europe. When I go to Europe, I use the European Maps and they are very accurate.
maps cost about $120 USD if you order from Garmin direct. May be cheaper if you buy from a store.
