The Garmin Nuvi 255W has added yet another dimension to its already popular 200 series by incorporating many improvements to its technology. One of key factors in choosing a technology based product is for it to be easy to use by a novice user but at the same time contain enough gadgetry to keep even the most discerning customer happy. The Garmin Nuvi 255w rates high in the design department as well coming as it does with its slim and elegant design. A unit that can easily fit into your purse.

    These are some of the features I really like about the Nuvi 255W:

  • The Garmin Lock™, an inventive anti-theft protection system that uses GPS to lock to a secure location of your choice.
  • The Garmin Nuvi 255W gives you step by step directions to stores, restaurants, airports, hotels - to pretty much any address you need to find.
  • The speaker is pretty loud and I had no trouble hearing it under any circumstances.
  • The Garmin Nuvi 255W connects to satellites extremely fast, so when I get in my car and turn it on, we’re pretty much ready to go immediately.

    • The great advantage over many competing units is when the interchanges and roadways offer a several options and the Nuvi 255W is provides an audible choice of which street to take, well in advance of the interchange itself.

    Although the Garmin nuvi 255W doesn’t offer every feature or customization option under the sun, I found that to be an advantage. With the introduction of the Garmin Nuvi 255W, sophisticated features previously found in higher-end models can now be reached at a reasonable price.
